Day of Praise

"A man's steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand his own way?" - Proverbs 20:24

We don't need to understand. We only need to believe what God has made plain through His Son, namely, Almighty God is for us.

Barely two weeks ago, an old friend from 28 years ago just showed up out of the clear blue. It was more like out of thin air. And in these two weeks, my old friend's family and mine have discovered a bounty of things to be shared from church to music to meals.

And all this started when my old friend heard my name in the grocery store that is less than a mile from our church.

We've discovered that our families have lived ten miles away for almost twenty years. But a few months ago, they moved to a house just two miles from the church. And then God started directing some steps and blessing our already-blessed lives by weaving our families back together. Amazing.

All of this is to say that God is good. All the time, God is good. God is good, directing our steps, leading us to doors and windows of blessing. Sure, we can do what we want. But what God wants is always better. And we know this through the sin-forgiving cross and the life-giving resurrection of God's Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
