Sa, 11/16/13, "Day of Praise"
"because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." Luke 1:78-79
Aaaah, sunrise. God's sunrise. Light. Guidance. Peace.
My friend, Lori Spahn, who lives with her husband and three kids in San Antonio, replied to a recent "Day of Praise" with this beautiful, attached picture of a sunrise at their house along with the following reflection, encouraging us all to be joyfully content with God's wondrous provision.
Lori wrote:
Here is my thought for the day/devotional as God gave it to me this morning.
Has anyone else noticed how beautiful the sunrises and sunsets have been since Daylight Savings Time ended? I have. I believe that God reveals himself to us through all aspects of his creation. I think He wants us on "sun time" (SON time) just the way He created it to be, not on some altered time concocted by man, "daylight savings time". God's time is perfect. We wake up and get going and He greets us with a most beautiful display across the sky. At the end of the day, He is telling us "Your day is done. Go home and be with your family. Close the doors, get to bed and rest, and get ready for the next day." And He tucks us in with the most beautiful sunset to say good night. We don't need to save up time for anything. God gives us every minute, and we cannot add to it or accrue more for a later date.
Praise God!
