Day of Praise

Fr, Mar 22, "Day of Praise"

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9

Keep going, good people. In the strength of Christ keep going.

A long-time friend of mine, Christy Ethridge, posted the following on her blog (www.christyslifelessons.com), and it is said that Mother Theresa had this on her wall --
"People are often unreasonable,
illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of
Selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some
False friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
Someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
And it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
It is between you and God;
It never was between you and them anyway."

Additionally, when asked how he could perform 2 days after being shot, the late Bob Marley, (who was/is understandably controversial to some people), said, "The people who were trying to make this world worse are not taking the day off. Why should I? Light up the darkness."

So, I say again, keep going, good people. In the strength and righteousness of Christ keep going...because you strengthen our group witness and group encouragement as described in Hebrews 12:1, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."

And one final Biblical encouragement from Romans 5:3-5, where God, through Paul, calls us to keep going even when we feel like quitting, "Not only so, but we[a] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

So hang in there y'all "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9).

Praise God!
